SICILY, CEFALU, APRIL 27
We met for breakfast at the Ristorante Duomo in the Cathedral Square. Very pleasant.
With breakfast over we commenced the climb to the top of La Rocca. Soon we had to pay 2 Euros to continue. The process of obtaining a ticket was a "song and dance". Eventually we were able to continue.
The path consisted of many steps until about halfway, it then became a typical steep trail interspersed with rocks. At the top we were treated to splendid views of the town, the sea and surrounding hills.
"I spy a Damsel"
On the way down we encountered several goats jumping
about on the rocks.
Halfway down we stopped for a break and to take in the countryside.
We reached the bottom of the mountain having covered a distance of 5 km with an elevation gain of 1,000 ft.
After coming down we headed for a beer in the square at Il Caffe Di Ruggero.
Tom's snack
We had pre-dinner drinks on the patio overlooking the sea at Dolce Vita B&B where the other members of our group were billeted. It was a pleasant start to the evening.
Dinner was at another fine restaurant, Al Porticciolo, dining on Antipasto, Risotto, Salad & Lemon Sorbet. At the end of the meal we celebrated Parvin's newly created Birthday with yet another cake.
She does like me!
